Great looks but subpar components
The top wooden layer of the case was not properly cut to match the plastic pieces underneath, which meant the 4 screws wouldn’t align during assembly. I had to manually sand down the inside of the wooden piece many times before it properly aligned with the rest. It was a very tedious process. The other issue I encountered was with the fan. The original fan I received was loud and produced a very high-pitched whine, so I requested a replacement based on the recall notice posted on the company’s web site. They promptly sent me a new fan, which was appreciated, but the replacement wasn’t much quieter than the original. And then after a couple of days the new fan started making horribly loud grinding noises. I ended up throwing away the fan and the case, which is a shame because it was a nice ... Expensive, but worth it
It might be one of the more expensive cases that are available on this site, but it is definitely worth it if you are looking for one that is aesthetically pleasing. Looks exactly as it does in the pictures and is relatively easy to assemble. The fan may not be necessary for all projects, and does make the Pi more noticeable due to the added noise, but is overall a good trade off if needed.
