Nice Pickups for Classic Rock Tones
Like their name says, these pickups are all about getting the tones of a certain top-hat wearing rocker known as Slash. They are very similar to Gibson's Classic 57 pickups in tone and output (around 7.5+) only wound just a bit hotter to give you an extra edge. This is the way Slash does it with his "live" guitars that he uses on tour (vs. ones in the recording studio). The sound is warm with just the right amount of growl to push your amp into that sweet overdrive we all love. As with all Duncan pickups, you know you are getting a quality product and these are no exception. Works perfectly with Gibson multi-function control knobs.
I bought these to use with my 2019 Gibson Les Paul which has the control board that allows coil splitting and inner/outer coil selection. These custom 4 wire versions of the APH-2 worked perfectly with all those functions and, of course, sound way better than the stock pickups.
