Still don't know how hot it is ...
I have no doubts about the price, the quality, the images on the face, etc, of this oven thermometer. In fact, the method of attaching it to the wire racks in the oven are quite unique and an improvement over anything I have had before. But ... I still have the same problem as before ... when there is more than 65 degrees difference between the dial on the oven and the face of the thermometer, which one do I believe? Which one do I trust? Would it not be possible for the makers of this thermometer to put a colored mark on the dial and say "this is a verified 350 degree mark or a 400 degree mark so you know how to adjust the dial on your oven". These units need not be perfect to within a few degrees. The do have to be relatively accurate, so I know that when my oven says 300 it is ... I have no doubts about the price, the quality, the images on the face, etc, of this oven thermometer. Why can't thermometers do that? If the thermometer had only one temperature marked on it, and we knew that was accurate, I can adjust my over up or down to any other temperature and know that it is reliably accurate. Does this unit give me that? I don't know.

Just what I wanted. But...
This is what I needed - a thermometer with the degree measurements outside the glass. However, it turned color due to heat. I wiped it with a damp cloth and the numbers came off. No way to tell the temperature now.
