This laptop is super durable and reliable. I highly recommend. It also has all of the ports and can play CDs and DVDs unlike newer macbook pros.

First I have to say this is my first mac product, so this is only my opinion. I am an Android person. So much easier. Mac sites are not set up for new users. you have to know about what you are trying to find information about, and then you have to know what you are given instructions for. Not helpful for newbies. Now about the MacBook pro. it heats up fast and restarts often on its own. I did find help with that but it took several days to find the partial answer. Still does it but not as often. I think this is the first and last apple product I will have.First I have to say this is my first mac product, so this is only my opinion. I am an Android person. So much easier. Great Classic MacBook Pro, great value and still runs the latest OS X
This is a classic (non-unibody) MacBook Pro. This is the last model produced before the Unibody MacBook Pro were released later in 2008. This model runs at 2.5 GHz and is very fast, I have a 2.6 GHz model also and don't really notice a difference. These models can take up to 6 GB of RAM, nearly as much as the 8 GB maximum of the late-2008 to mid-2010 models. (However the DDR2 RAM is more costly than the DDR3 RAM, around 150% more currently, this and earlier MacBook Pros take DDR2 RAM, all Unibody MacBook Pros take DDR3 RAM) I do like the matte finish over the glossy finish with the newer Unibody MacBook Pros better. The keyboard is also silver along with the rest of the MacBook Pro, the newer MacBooks have black keys. The keyboard is more traditional and doesn't have gaps between ... I would rate this as one of the best buys currently for MacBooks because they tend to be slightly lower in cost (being non-Unibody) and yet perform virtually the same (or better in the case of MacBook Pros without discrete graphics) with comparable internal components. I would consider this to be a viable MacBook Pro for another 1-2 years for purchase mainly because it still runs the Latest version of Mac OS X (Mountain Lion), and can hold 6GB of RAM which is will be adequate through the next couple of years.

My Mac Attack !!
What can I say? I was first an "Apple" guy back in the mid 80's, then went to PC's simply because of the lack of programs for Apple products. After 20 years of seeing Windows 3.0, 3.1, 95, 98, 2000, XP and Vista operating systems cannibalize themselves with Service Pack______ (fill in the blank)updates and blue screens of death, etc,...I'm back with Mac. Truly elegant computer with equally elegant and well executed software. Unboxed my USED Mac Pro and it welcomed me like I was the one who ordered it from the factory. With minimal input from me (beyond name and basic info) it set itself up right out of the box. I was online and surfing within 5 minutes of starting. Awesome machine...simply awesome. Absolutely ZERO crapware. Just the laptop and the software utility pgms that came ... What can I say?
