All in all, a convenient lense but don't expect fast speed with great light
Good all in one lense. Bought it to allow flexibility when out and about without having to carry an extra lense. Image quality is good although not perfect in low light especially when using zoom as f level step up. Required tripod in low light situation. Lense lock only work to keep the lense in its normal state ie. when you want to put it away. Lense lock doesn't work when zooming but not a problem as long as you hold the lense with your hand to stop it creeping. All in all, a convenient lense but don't expect fast speed with great light like the one with lower F stop lenses.Good all in one lense. Pleased I purchased this lens.
Having read several reports on this lens, some positive some negative I decided to purchase it as a walkabout lens so I could leave my 18-55 and 55-250 kit lenses at home, overaul I am very satisfied with the quality of the lens and its performance is certainly on a par with my other 2 lenses and it covers most of my requirements. After owning 1 of these lenses for over a month now I have a few comments That I hope could help some 1 who is thinking about buying 1 of these. Good points Nice clear lens, good picture quality fast focusing and best of all 18-200 Zoom range which will be great for me to take on holiday. Bad points Build quality is quite poor, I think the 28-135 lens is built much better. I use this lens on my 7D and when filming you have to focus manually. On this lens it’s a pain because when you turn the focus ring the motor Is still engaged so you have to switch the lens to manual focus first. With the focus ring at the end of the lens that’s annoying also I prefer It near the front. with this lens, everyone can be a professional.
It is a fantastic lens. very easy to use. the photos are truly fantastic , and any point on the horizon is easily photographed . we feel real professional photography with a lens of these . I highly recommend the lens to all passionate about photography.
