The instructions indicated the possibility that a sign of failure of the large filter caps heating up.
I took an infrared photo of the caps and, of note, the underside. (I have many more photos.)
The heat signature on the caps, I found interesting. Also note the heat at the input of the underside board.

Seller is helpful and the kit worked well for my MR78.Kit has quality components, rated at 105c temp (important if restuffing the old cans).Due to varying editions of the MR78, I would call the instructions more of a basic guideline, so the user should be experienced with reading schematics.
