FromSoftware's critically acclaimed action RPG series returns with a new focus on faster-paced combat and a new world to explore in Dark Souls III. As in previous entries in the series, the game offers a vague storyline, a healthy dose of challenge, and a lot of death as players make their way through a dark, foreboding world filled with twisted monsters. Gamers can customize their character from ten different classes, find or purchase a variety of weapons, shields, and magic spells to fend off foes, and collect souls to acquire new items or level up ten different attributes.<br><br>The Kingdom of Lothric contains fewer unique environments than Dark Souls II's Drangleic, but the levels are designed to be larger and more interconnected, with challenging boss battles spilling players out at life-giving bonfires they visited hours or days before. Gamers once again have an Estus Flask to restore a limited amount of health, but Dark Souls III also marks the return of the magic meter from Demon's Souls, with players consuming an Ash Estus Flask to restore their magic. The series' distinct multiplayer mode returns as well, with blood stains and scrawled messages on the ground providing warnings to fellow users, and players wreaking havoc on one another through game invasions.

    DS3 is a great addition to the Soulsbourne collection

    Bloodborne DS1 DS3 DeS DS2 But they're all great. The bosses in DS3 are not generally as hard as Bloodborne, but there are some BS bosses in here: once you know the "trick" to beating them, they are trivial, but without that trick they are super tedious. The graphics in this game are amazing though, and I like the flow between the different areas, although the progress through this one follows a more linear path than the other games.

    Overall good with one personal gripe

    It contains everything it should contain, makes for a solid collectors edition. Art book is amazing, best one yet, contains all 3 dark souls games art. Statue is neat, not as good as Dark Souls II collectors edition in size but its stability is a nice plus. But I still think if you get a collectors edition of a game it should give you a DLC season pass, which most certainly is not the case with this game. To be fair there is no season pass option for it at all on console so yea. Would be 5/5 if not for that.

    The Adventure worth the wait.

    Some frame rate dips (On the original PS4) aside, it's a fairly smooth game to play. The visual fidelity is pretty good, and the overall game itself is a blast. This is probably the best overall DS experience in the line up. Where Demon Souls and the original Dark Souls is for the most hardcore of gamers, this one bridges the gap of being accessible yet challenging taking the best things from prior games into a single experience. The execution of trying to accomplish this might have not been the best, but for what it's worth, definitely good for a pick up.
