About this product

Product Information

In this survival-of-the-fittest teen comedy, high school is a dangerous jungle seething with teenagers who prey on each other like wild animals. The nonstop jokes are hilariously rewarding as they exaggerate adolescent vanity and satirize political correctness issues like race, class, and homosexuality. Here, the Plastics are the most popular girls in school. They wrote the rule book on Girl World, like always wearing pink on Tuesdays. And they're mean. So when pretty new girl Cady (Lindsay Lohan) arrives in school, the first thing they do is make fun of her. Then they try to win her over. Cady is torn between social cliques. She befriends the punky rebels Janis (Lizzy Caplan) and Damian (Daniel Franzese). But the guy Cady wants to date is friends with the Plastics--Regina (Rachel McAdams), Gretchen (Lacey Chabert), and Karen (Amanda Seyfriend)--so she has to be resourceful. Problem is, the two groups hate each other. Just trying to fit in, Cady jumps through hoops for the Plastics and becomes a mean girl in the process. Though her transformation is radical, when the final act of meanness is done, she learns a few valuable lessons.SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE writer Tina Fey contributes the script and also stars as a teacher, quietly smirking at her own jokes throughout the antics. Directed by FREAKY FRIDAY's Mark Waters, MEAN GIRLS doesn't miss a beat, following the faithful formula of teen fare such as SIXTEEN CANDLES and HEATHERS. The soundtrack features songs by Blondie, Missy Elliot, Pink, The Donnas, and Janis Ian.

  • Mean Girls is Wildly Funny & Rachel McAdams =)

I was suckered into watching Mean Girls and thought I'd quickly be asking for 90 minutes of my life back... not so! This movie was surprisingly fun, humorous and wildly sarcastic. But then again - what would you expect from Saturday Night Live's Lorne Michaels? Lindsay Lohan - the pre partying / coke / craziness Lindsay Lohan - plays the role pretty well and this will probably be the best performance of her dying career (me complimenting her is VERY rare - herbie?!!). But the star is Rachel McAdams who is sensationally cute and very funny. The movie has a pretty great cast - Amy Poehler and Tina Faye are also excellent. But the movie's bright spot is the writing and the wit. Super sarcastic and pokes fun at pop-culture... its just ironic that Lindsay Lohan is the one doing it becaues ...

  • Entertaining, funny film

I really enjoyed this movie - I thought it was well cast, had a good soundtrack, and some very sharp writing. It does a great job of showing how harrowing and volatile one's high school experience can be, and how even with the best of intentions you can lose yourself among the shallowness of your peers in your quest for self-identity/affirmation. Had some really funny moments in it, and ultimately a lesson to be learned. I recommend this film to anyone who is interested in a well-shot comedy that doesn't resort to repeated references to bodily functions for all its laughs.

  • it was ok

ok i have to first get this off my chest ..... would you beleive racheal mcadams is 26 in this movie?????!!!!!!!!! yet she is playing the part of a 16yr old!!!!!!!!!! oh well, her acting is GREAT and she is very cute, lidsey lohan does alright.... i feel like there were parts that could have been done better.... this is however a VERY realalistic idea of the teenage world, with three way call attacks, sabotajing relationships, setting friends up to get in trouble when you feel theyve wronged you etc etc .... i liked it, but i also think it could have been better ..... either way making this movie must have been difficult and you gotta give it credit for that

  • Real Life

The movie diffenetly wasnt what I expected. I seen interveiws on TV with the cast and behind the scenes footage, and I thought "Hey this is gonna be a pretty cool movie". And it was. I thought it did summerize what every teenage girl goes through during high school. Everyone wants to be popular and wants to fit it but in the end it not worth it. You have to follow your own path. This movie really shows that. This is one of Lindsay Lohan's best movies. It was very well writen and directed. I loved it!

  • MEAN GIRLS

The trailer caught me, I liked the sarcastic flavor. I happened to see it on the big screen, and I litterly laughed til I cryed. The class divisions in high school have a new fresh twist. Cool parents (that aren't cool) emotional meltdowns, and just plain ackwardness. Lorne Michaels (Saturday Nite Live !!)is the master of sharpening the sarcastic one liners to a razors edge. If you like new experiences and tense comedy that just gets better, with unexpected turns along the way, you will love this movie.
