All went well with this transaction. You never know when purchasing from overseas, but I would certainly order from her again. BTW, very nice business card, I really like it.

    A Cautionary Tale

The novel which was the basis for this film, like many others written before and after it, takes a harsh look at the potential results of the Cold War of the 1950s and 1960s. As brought to the screen, it tells of the immediate aftermath of a thermonuclear exchange between the United States and the USSR, following it to its logical conclusion. Through a mixed bag of characters, granted a temporary reprieve by the fact that the initial destruction took place in the Northern Hemisphere, we see played out the range of emotions which likely would be demonstrated by those facing the predictable, imminent death of humanity. The movie was nominated for several Academy Awards, but was released in the same year as Ben-Hur, and was shot in black-and-white. In addition, although there are scenes of ...

    Beware!

Sound and picture quality poor. Second rate sound and picture. Falsely advertised as Widescreen when does not even properly fill a 16x9 screen without using TV zoom which also reduces picture quality to nearly unwatchable. A shame for this classic film. Found much better quality elsewhere using side by side comparison with picture quality vastly superior and proper aspect ratio with no need to zoom.

  • On the Beach

I realize Nevil Shute didn’t like the movie at all. But how often do authors really enjoy movies made from their books? I’ve been a fan of this film and the book since they first appeared. I think the film is the most upliftingly depressing movie ever made. If you don’t understand what I mean, watch it and find out!!

  • Great Movie

The plot and acting in this video make it a memorable film. The story is compelling. Among the end of the world films this is easily one of the best to watch. highly recommend .

I kinda panicked when I saw the Korean script on the box - I was afraid it was the wrong zone, but all is well. I was very impressed with the boat handling details in the first few minutes of the film - in the submarine - I must have missed that detail in 1960.
