Good lense for the amateur
I bought this lense to replace the kit lense which came with my Canon camera after the kit lense failed outside of warrenty. The autofocus packed in.The model which I have now purchased is a later version and works just fine with the usual high standard of picture quality that we expect from Canon. We have to remember that this class of lense is not in the upper bracket in terms of construction but then the price reflects this. Good reasonably priced product
Wanted a reasonably cheep lens with image stabilization. Will never compete with the more expensive lenses in the Canon range, but is a marked improvement on the old EFS 18-55mm (mark 1)lens. If you want a reasonable lens to take with you on holiday without damaging your more prized lenses, then this is the one for you. Good colour resolution and good sharpness and finally easy to use.

Great lens for general shots and general use.
Bought due to mk1 model obtained as a package deal developed a problem will auto focus. Repair would have been over£100 so new mk2 at this price was excellent value. I love this lens. On full auto I have taken some great pics just pointing and shooting. Used it for fishing trophy shots, sports shots fauna and flora etc.

Very nice item with a very nice price.
I bought it because I had earlier bought a Camera with a similar lens without stabilizer and I want to take sharper pictures without a stand, and that was a success with this lens.

fantastic camera combination now well its a canon says it all
i baught a sh canon slr with a scratched lens so picking up a replacement good cond lens i finished up with a great camera bargain mutch cheaper regds alf7109
