THE TOP ALBUM OF 1975
In 1975,with longtime producer Bob Ezrin, Cooper released an album whose title about a young boy named Steven--WELCOME TO MY NIGHTMARE. Being on hs own, Cooper was able to use rock theatre in a way that never happened in his band. The tour was one of the most record breaking in 1975-76. Bob Ezrin and Cooper put together great tracks including the surprise hit ONLY WOMEN BLEED, brought new fans to the Cooper camp and continuous pop radio airplay. I loved THE BLACK WIDOW and if you listen to the album from track to track it tells the nightmare of the boy Steven. Great idea at the time. Coopers shows were fantastic and the tour for this album was amazing and I had everyone of the albums he ever made and this was my favorite. It was even a movie release!!! When I was on the road we used to cover ONLY WOMEN BLEED and THE BLACK WIDOW and they became staple set additions on most of our shows. Grab a piece of history. I have a signed copy that I treasure! Hands down one of the top records of the mid 70's -STIFFLER

Alice's break from the original band was this album and while it is a good album, it signaled the change in alice from down and dirty rocker to master showman. The dvd of the same title is not very good, but the album is fairly good with the highlites being devils food/black widow, cold ethyl, and only women bleed which to me is Alice's best period, great writing. If you like Alice buy this, if you are just starting out with Alice get Killer, or Billion Dollar Babies.Alice's break from the original band was this album and while it is a good album, it signaled the change in alice from down and dirty rocker to master showman.
