Equipped with red aluminium heatsinks for best possible heat dissipation and stability.This single 8GB DDR3 module is a great upgrade for suitable Windows 7 64-bit systems and other platforms with support for single 8GB memory modules.This memory upgrade is also suitable for use in dual channel systems, as long as it is installed in matching pairs.G.Skill have pre-tested this 8GB memory upgrade to work on the motherboards listed below. I now have 48 Gigabytes of memory on a two Gigabyte motherboards, a EX58-UD5 and a X58A-UD3R. Triple channel, 2 DIMMS each, so 6 Memory Modules and they are running at 1600Mhz. As well the NB frequency went from 3200 to 3800 Mhz. The effective memory transfer rate is now 16.34 GB/sec. I am running the Xeon W3690 CPUS @4.4Ghz with 12 threads to process. I run Virtual Box machines with 16 Gb of memory at 4 threads each.
