Seller answered all my questions re the item, very prompt shipping. Item arrived in excellent condition and as described (Barbour Bedale with the liner). International shipping cost was reasonable considering it's coming from the states to Australia- could be cheaper but I'm certainly not fussed. Don't hesitate to transact with her.

    Very Nice!

Nice little mic, easy to use, light weight, great sound quality. I bought the fuzzy dead cat for outside use which I was able to install over top of the foam cover. I've heard people say they can't keep in in place, but mine snapped into place and seems to stay on with no problem. It's good for a light breeze, but does not work well when it's a little windy.

  • Decent basic shotgun microphone

This microphone is better than most of the lower end microphones, like the Rodes, etc. You have to get to the $350-$400 range to see any improvement. Of course a shotgun mic is only improving the sound from a distance. It does not come close to equaling a close mic, either lavalier or other, but it does reject a lot of off-axis noise. I think it will be better if I switch to rolling off the lower tones, but haven't actually tried that yet. I was surprised that the Takstar 598 at $29 actually came closer than I expected. The Takstar is much bigger and bulkier. Another feature of the Sennheiser is its small size. It is tiny for a real shotgun. I've had other Sennheisers before and wasn't expecting this little thing to work so well. It comes with a foam cover but I do wish I had a dead-cat ...

  • Excellent small external microphone

I looked and researched for quite a while for a small microphone to attach to my Nikon D-7100. I am looking for something lightweight, easy to operate and effective. This exceeded my expectations in an outdoor, windy test, and although I haven't tested it indoors, I am exceptionally happy. It suits my purposes perfectly.

  • Small size, big sound, fair price.

After exhaustive research, I got this mic for my dslr. Best looking, most compact, most solid feel with decent heft from metal construction. Sound is much better than internal mic, especially reducing dslr video operating noises, but keeping it real: it's not the "silver bullet". Why? Not the mic's fault: on camera mic is indiscriminate and too distant for crisp, isolated, rich sound. Long story short: there are no shortcuts to amazing sound, not even this awesome little mic if kept on your hotshoe.
