    Basic yet thorough

    I needed a book that I could call on as a quick reference guide as well as having a basic knowledge of general plant care. This book is a must have when beginning or building on your hobby with freshwater aquatic plants. Bring it with you to the store as many stores sell plants that are not actually fully aquatic but better suited for the terrarium. I've also found that most pet stores do not have an employee that's knowledge about planted aquariums. Most will just try and sell you the most expensive light, co2 system and water additives while at the same time not be able to tell you what plants require what care. This book helps eliminate that issue and puts it in your hands.

    A book that aquarium hobbyist should have.

    This is a very educational book that covers not just plants but what the plants need as in nutrients,light and water conditions. It is easy to read and not overly technical and allows for the basic understanding what plants and fish need to survive in an aquarium.

    Great Resource Book

    I wanted a plant to help figure out plants from buyer's list. This book is fully illustrated with color photos. There is an index in back using both the common and scientific names. You can look the pages are read about the plant. There is a rates system about the ease to keep the individual plants. If you want to set up a planted aquarium this is a great book to use. I wish the list of plants was longer but you can't have everything.
