I love the word of God. And Alexander scourby is the best Bible reader . I know there are others. but in his lifetime Alexander scourby was a professional actor. He knows how to read the Bible and bring emotion out at key points in Scripture. I know he passed away in 1985. But his legacy as the voice of the Bible. Will live on.

In summary, an excellent product, great value for the money. I purchased a newer edition: ISBN 978-1-59856-707-6, cover jacket mainly in blue. IMHO, Alexander Scourby's reading has never been matched and probably never will be. The audio is clean and distinct, with no distracting hiss, humm, or noise. However, after listening through the DVD completely a few times, I have caught a few instances of distracting stray sounds, or the reading being cut off by a word or two at the end of a chapter. These very small problems are not enough to keep me from being delighted with the product. Considering the time and effort taken to bring it to market, a project this size will always have a few minor gremlins. So far, I have used only the main disk to play through the Bible completely. On my BluRay player, at least, this has yielded a few pleasant surprises! First, after completing Revelation, the reading will start again at Genesis 1 without any intervention on my part. Also, when I leave the house to go to work, I pause the disk in the player, turn of the TV and stereo and depart. Upon return to the house several hours later, the player will have shut itself down. After turning the player back on it initializes itself and resumes playback of the Bible exactly where I paused it before departure. Thirdly, if i pause the disk then remove it in order to watch another DVD, the player usually remembers where to resume play of the disk when I replace it. This is more than what I expected the DVD to do. I was not able to accomplish this with the mp3 discs I had burned from downloaded tracks (not from the Scourby site) I had been using previously. So far, the on-screen text follows the reading precisely, very nice. I have not yet tried the bonus disk, or even any other features of the main disk besides straight play through. Hearing the Bible while I do other other things (including sleeping) was the objective of my purpose. This disk is doing that job in spades. If you are looking for an Audio-Video Bible, buy this product! The small glitches I mentioned above have not been enough to make me in the least unhappy with this product. Enjoy hearing Scourby reading the Bible now!

Awesome investment for the money
I purchase one earlier in January 2012.After sharing it with friends and family members they love it.Everyone love the Bible triva.It really test your Bibical knowledge of not only the people of the Bible but the places as well.The Bible dvd of the set not only allowed us to hear the Word but actually see the scriptures as well.I myself being a person who multi- task it allows me the confort and joy of studying the Bible and cleaning or cooking at the same time.What started out being a 30 minutes of Bible triva winded up being a may I borrow.So I decided to purchase one for each of them.I purchase one earlier in January 2012.After sharing it with friends and family members they love it.Everyone love the Bible triva.It really test your Bibical knowledge of not only the people of the Bible but the places as well.The Bible dvd of the set not only allowed us to hear the Word but actually see the scriptures as well.I myself being a person who multi- task it allows me the confort and joy of studying the Bible and cleaning or cooking at the same time.What started out being a 30 minutes of Bible triva winded up being a may I borrow.So I decided to purchase one for each of them.

OK for the money
I bought this DVD because my eyes are not what they used to be. I can follow along with Alexander Scourby and read clearly on the screen. My only real complaint is when I place a bookmark, it does not start up where I marked it. Also when I reload the disk and start where I left off, the screen is blank until the first page is turned which may be 5-6 verses.
