    A Dorothy L. Sayers masterpiece, brought to life

    This is an excellent story of the character Lord Peter Wimsey, wonderfully portrayed by Ian Carmichael. It's set in the post WWI era in the U.K., and profiles the beginning of the friendship and partnership of Lord Peter and his valet Bunter. Both of whom served their country in the trenches during the war, Lord Peter being an officer and Bunter a sargeant in his platoon. The story shows the two men working together while trying to solve a crime that happened twenty years prior their visit to a grand estate in East Anglia. This is a mystery story, so I will not divulge any of the facts about the story that is brilliantly depicted in this BBC adaptation. It is perhaps one of the finest mystery series ever filmed.     A lot of film footage was used to excessively make various points. This made P. Wimsey boring and utterly hokey.
