Has Operated Well and Reliably Once Set Up
A failed wireless card in a desktop PC made me realize we had not upgraded to 802.11 n, and this unit seems to be doing the job very nicely. We have several wireless computers, a Bluray, a Roku, and two phones and it's handling all of them quite nicely. It required some configuration and a bit of fussing, but has maintained high speeds and continuous uptime since. I configured it as a simple access point as we already have a router hardwired to the cable modem. The instructions are a bit vague at times and there is a "buy-in" button to accept configuration changes that's easy to miss. I think a bit of improvement to the manual would have served to earn the fifth star. The manual is not awful, but it would help if it was a bit more specific about options and setup procedures. This is by far the best long distance router we have ever used!
This is the only router/repeater that can reach the boat dock WIFI security systems we install. Asus and the Buffalo long rang routers do not even come close. From the ECB350 through trees and all we can get an excellent signal on the security DVR using a usb long range WIFI directional antenna. Our furthest install from the ECB350 to the DVR has been 3600 feet receiving an excellent stable signal. Works excellent as a quick add on Repeater while leaving the existing WIFI system in place.This is the only router/repeater that can reach the boat dock WIFI security systems we install.
