    Black Thorne: Genius of the 16-bit

    Black Thorne is essentially a precursor to many modern game motifs and encompasses a rare quality of attention to detail a lot of Snes games were close to achieving but didn't quite reach to this extent. Duck n' Cover tactics with easy item management and one of the best control schemes for a side-scrolling shooter. This game harkens to Flashback, one of the finest 16bit era games, on many levels. Cinematic cutscenes and dark but detailed graphics, Black Thorne is among the best!

    Great game. Rare game. There are probably like ten of these left in such good condition.

    This is one of the most rare games of all time. For the SNES system, the game reminds people at first very much if the hit game Prince of Persia where you unfortunately don't wield a shotgun to blow away monsters. The two games both combine action with puzzles as you scour the level for health items and keys. Great game and a truly special title.

    Blackthorne for the Super NES

    Highly detailed, early arcade-style, run and gun, platform based shooter. The SNES title by Interplay was a compelling, fun game, and won some Best Game awards at the time. Like a darker, graphically superior version of Contra perhaps. Somewhat better quality on PC, as I recall. If you've had the pleasure of playing other Interplay games from the 90s, they don't disappoint. I thought it was a blast, and I'd play it again. The controls are simple and smooth. Run, jump, shoot, take cover, shoot, climb, repeat.

    It's been 20 years since I've played this game. I recently played it and it's just as fun playing it now as it was then. It's one of the best shoot em up games ever made!!!
