Billy Wilder's classic comedy stars Jack Lemmon and Tony Curtis as a pair of unemployed musicians who inadvertently become witnesses to the St. Valentine Day's Massacre. To escape the wrath of the gangsters, Joe (Curtis) and Jerry (Lemmon) are forced to hit the road in drag, taking the only jobs available with an all-girl band bound for Miami. Enroute, both men fall for lead singer and blond bombshell Sugar Kane, (Marilyn Monroe), but are unable to fulfill their desires for fear of revealing their identity. Joe tries to get around this by adopting a third identity for seduction, that of a shy millionaire who sounds strangely like Cary Grant. Meanwhile Jerry has his own problems, fighting off the advances of Osgood E. Fielding, a real millionaire hypnotized by his/her charms.

I'd watch it again. Oh wait I have so I'll watch it again and maybe again. Giving a few years in between.
A classic of slap stick comedy that's fun and fun and silly too. Why not visit this now and again with my 85 year old hubby who's been married to me for 51 years and on occasion with a neighbor who also has fun watching older movies. We set up an outdoor projector on my back yard covered patio last summer to see this. Then we didn't get it watched. WAHHHH. But the plan now is to watch it in the 22 year old RV I've rebuilt once I finish the upholstery work this winter and christian the RV one night with popcorn and watch this movie snuggled in each our own twin beds side by side in the RV as a girls night out. Hubby's don't mind we invited them to our girl friend party and girl flick fun but they decline. Silly guys. However my husband happens to like this movie too. We'll watch it now and ... No ones making any of these today. They should. Yes they now and again make a stab at it like Night at the Museum, American Treasure etc. If you like these old comedy romps sit back get the popcorn ready and just escape for a few minutes.

I've loved this movie for years! I wanted this 2-disk collectors edition as it also has "the making of" and the actors/directors commentary on it. The premise of the movie is that Jack Lemmon & Tony Curtis are musicians on the run from the mob. They end up dressing up as women to join an all female band on thier way down to Florida. Jack Lemmon & Tony Curtis are hilarious as men dressed up as women and trying to keep in thier female characters so that they won't be caught out; difficult to do as they are surrounded by a bevy of beauties, which include Marilyn Monroe. Marilyn Monroe & Tony Curtis's characters are always given as the top billing, but I think that Jack Lemmon just steals the show. The last few lines of this movie will make ... Someone loaned this to me a while back and I thought it was one of the most hilarious movies I have ever seen. So I bought a copy for myself and have watched it 5 times. One of the funnier seens is as Tony and Jack are dressed as women and Marilyn runs by and the train steams at her, and just make me really laugh. There is no cursing or sex scenes whatsoever! It's just good clean fun! It really is one of the greatest comedies of all time and one you want, want to miss. There is nothing I say bad about this great classic, besides I wouldn't have enough space......LOL...... Be sure and get this one, cause you don't want to miss Marilyn, Tony, and Jack at their best~!!!!!!
