    The Must Have of Every Cook and Cookbook Collector

    This exact book was gifted to me a couple decades ago but accidentally given away to charity - it was a heartbreaking discovery. To find another in pristine perfect condition as mine feels like my friend has come home. It is truly the culinary encyclopedia/Bible that can never be worn out or exhausted. Larousse Gastronomique has been revised numerous times (1988 is my favorite) because its incredible. Nope, ot is not a trendy cookbook full of trendy recipes and colorful pictures of dishes on wood plank backgrounds. Instead, the textbook format masterfully defines and explains those variable which never change - taste, flavor, spice, technique - for all skill levels. The seller generously explained that her husband treasured his cookbooks, had passed away and that she was now charged with ...
