so much of what kef has done since the 3001SEs bore the "new kef" have been repackaged down grades
the 3001SEs "EGG" was a launchpad to refine every element from the ground up and its a modern classic no less amazing than the ls3 5a. while the 3001SEs could play from 50khz before rolling off at an astounding 55hz by the unique combination of sorcery that culminated in that series but then was stripped from its technical successors only to give rise to the LS series and the blade this is a great example of the strategic doling out of tech and deliberate product stratification. The T1 sub is really just a down graded HTB2 made of cheaper materials and relying on a rectangular rather than toroidal design because as Andrew Jones said in interview: curved cabinets are just much harder to produce and QA. The same can obviously be seen if you compare the lineage of the 2001.X, the 3001SEs ... the 3001SEs "EGG" was a launchpad to refine every element from the ground up and its a modern classic no less amazing than the ls3 5a. while the 3001SEs could play from 50khz before rolling off at an astounding 55hz by the unique combination of sorcery that culminated in that series but then was stripped from its technical successors only to give rise to the LS series and the blade this is a great example of the strategic doling out of tech and deliberate product stratification. There is clearly an odd man out, one has the same crossover point as the ls50 and the same port tuning, 2.2khz and 52hz respectively, while the other two are clearly a tiny iterative step with the same crossover at 2.7khz and a low end that bottoms out audibly at 75hz. if you want this sub you're much better off getting the same exact sub down to the same Amp and driver but in a much better form factor, higher build quality, and a unique rear vented dual diaphragm cone that directs its rearward action toward a passive radiator tuned to 55hz where if you were to place a coin on its edge it'd stand still on perfect equilibrium. it's clever design also allows for it to convert into what I call "robo tortoise mode" where it lays flat and fits right under your couch and doubles as a couch rumbler. While it's a sealed sub and so not the loudest sub, and relatively small, it's the cleanest purest sounding sub I've ever heard particularly at volumes as low as 30db. it sounds the closest to how pure bass sounds through a nice set of IEMs I've heard. if you want a loud house shaking sub this isn't for you, if you want a super clean minimal and incredibly tuneful abs tight sub that sounds just as tuneful at any volume I'd go for this in this only if I couldn't get the superior htb2 that preceded it. (in the second image I didn't bother taking off the foot but it's easy enough with an Allen wrench. I just didn't want to go through the trouble. you can find pics online)

Kef T2 Sub I had high WAF and outs out serious bass!
This sub has very high Wife approval factor, it can be placed almost anywhere in your room and due to its EXTREMELY thin profile design of only 7” deep, (7 INCHES DEEP!) it can blend in very easily. You’ll be amazed by the bass it puts out in such a form factor. It’s also relatively lightweight at like 29 lbs so it’s very easy to move around. You won’t be disappointed.

Cannot get more dynamic sound in a more inconspicuous or beautiful package.
This sub is dynamic, punchy, and everything you need in a subwoofer from this size. It goes toe to toe with SVS and anything even twice it’s weight. T205 are all around some of the best speakers money can buy and this sub is no different.
