    A pleasant surprise a two levels..

    I bought this album because I wanted to experience HDCD (High Definition compact disc) I'd never heard it before..Well the difference in overall quality of sound was huge...Great detail very believable sound stage,,, a real sense of the space it was recorded in,,,The players are locked in the space they occupied..It was a bit of a revelation for me...The Jerry Garcia performance was a big bonus in this case my pursuit was tilted to the audiophile side ..but I must say together with David Grisman,, these guy's do a great job of performing a very effervescent joy-filled acoustic experience..The wonderful mastery they command with their instruments is very very fulfilling..All in all I am delighted with this purchase.

    A little bit redundant because of the 8 tunes on the album, 3 are different recordings of one tune and 2 are different recordings of another tune. But it's wonderful background music and also good for a musicians trying to learn new licks.
