Maybe a little dated technologically but great for laughs.
Some of these shorts may be a bit crude by today’s standards of digital animation but they are all still entertaining and even funny. Second time watching this in last five years which I almost never do. Just as good the second time around. A lot of clever, creative and talented people at Pixar.

Falling in Love with Shorts
It's the little things in life that people value most, and that goes for short films as well. These little snippits of creativity are fun and unique; Disney and Pixar were wise to use them in the opening of their CG films. Just as with a good meal, an appetizer serves to prepare the pallet for the main course, much like a cup of Lobster Bisque before the Filet Mignon...or Buffalo Wings before a Cheeseburger. Each little film sets the tone and mood for the primary film, even if the two subjects have little or nothing in common other then their superior visual effects and fascinating development. The fact that each of these films have been gathered together in one set is just smart from a marketing point of view. This set is a must have for the serious film collector, and I am pleased to ... Some of the finest animated shorts ever produced!
When the fine folks at Disney and Pixar finally decided to release a single volume disc DVD of every Pixar short film together into one volume, it was a dream come true. Watching all of these clips together in a single showing is a real treat. Starting off with their very first effort, 'The Adventures of Andre And Wally B.' looks a bit crude but nonetheless it is still enjoyable seeing how Pixar began; 'Luxo Jr.' shows us why the company has a lamp for its mascot; 'Tin Toy' could very well be a sample of the 'Toy Story' world; 'Red's Dream' is a charming piece about a lonely unicycle; 'Knick Knack' tells of a plastic snowman determined to get free of his snow-bubble surroundings; 'Geri's Game' is hilarious with an old man actually playing chess against himself (this same old man was also ... Altogether, 'Pixar Short Films Collection' is one DVD that is loads of fun.

Terrific Collection of Pixar's Best
While I really love most of Pixar's feature-length movies, it is the animated shorts that I think make the company shine. This DVD contains all of your favorites and maybe a few you haven't seen. No more trying to remember which DVD had what short cartoon--they're all together on one disc. Classics like Luxo Jr. and Knick Knack are together with newer shorts like Lifted. All are charming in a way only Pixar has mastered. There is also an audio commentary that you can turn on or off, and you have the option to play individual cartoons or watch them all together. These are the greatest shorts of all times! Many of these are films that were made to test the capabilities of the computer animation abilities for the feature length movies, but they are in many cases better than the main movies Pixar has made. For us slightly older folks, we can remember the short cartoons before the main films when we went to the drive-ins and theaters. This is a through back to the days of short...to the point...funny...and memorable shorts we all loved. The technical work and brilliance of the creators is beyond what most studios will ever achieve. This is a must have for the true cartoon and animation lovers collection.These are the greatest shorts of all times!
