    Great head unit

    This unit sounds great and surprisingly is extremely easy to set up and use. Only thing I wish I would have thought of is the mirroring function for an Android phone. While this does have Apple Play, it of course does not work with android, which is no big deal as the other features are awesome. The GPS works well, and the traffic by Inrex is pretty good thus far.

    fantastic unit after updating the firmware

    I love this head unit. I think it's an underrated gem in the car stereo world. The thing is that all of the specs and reviews are from when the unit hit the market and lacked many modern features. However, Kenwood releases firmware updates for the Excelon line and after updating this unit, it features Spotify, Pandora, Android Auto, and many other features not listed in the original documentation. Update is easy and brings this unit up to current standards. With a one more flash, you can update the start up splash screen to get that factory install vibe. Search for instructions online. Basically a one line script and specific image specs, then getting into the admin settings menu. Easy and it works.

    Not the best

    I have been a long time Kenwood user but this radio is a total letdown. The screen brightness is lacking, even with tinted windows. The user interface is buggy. The CarPlay freezes up. Not my favorite radio by far.

    Great Stereo/Nav system

    I'm not an audiophile, but I really like the sound and hear parts of music that I hadn't before. The navigation is from Garmin. Firmware updates are available from Kenwood. Map updates are available from Garmin And it has an actual volume knob.
