About this product

Product Information

Singer inspires the gift of giving homemade surprises, decorating the home with custom accent pieces and fabrics, and designing clothing to make a unique fashion statement. This creativity is made possible by using the Singer heavy-duty sewing machine. The 23 basic, stretch, decorative, and buttonhole stitches that the Model 4423 Singer sewing machine produces can be used for a variety of purposes around the home or for special events. Check the seemingly endless supply of patterns or create a new pattern. Make a fashion statement and sew quick wardrobe changes by adding an extra buttonhole or embroidery to clothing. When using heavy-duty Singer sewing machines, the selection of fabrics to choose from can extend to denim and leather for your projects. It’s simple to change the presser foot pressure to accommodate these thicker fabrics or return to delicate fabrics that are lighter weight. The bobbin winder is accessible on top of the Singer sewing machine to thread the bobbin easily. Once you insert the bobbin beneath the pressure foot, keep an eye on the amount of thread remaining for a continuous sewing experience. Adjust the length of the stitches with a turn of the dial for creative designs or increase the width of stitches up to 6mm. Threading the needle is no longer a test of patience or an issue for the eyes with the automatic needle threader. Because the heavy-duty metal frame adds stability and has a strong motor, sewing a higher quantity of items more quickly and efficiently at 1,100 stitches per minute is achievable. The needle can be changed to any of the three available positions to add zippers or a decorative touch with topstitching and cording. Increase confidence stitching with the automatic reverse functionality feature. Reduce or increase the speed of the sewing machine effortlessly with the foot control pedal. Operating sewing machines with the foot allows fastidiously sewing hands to focus on perfection. A variety of accessories are included with the Singer sewing machine, which store conveniently in the removable storage compartment on the front of the sewing machine. The sewing machine needles, seam ripper and brush, spool holders, bobbins, screwdriver, auxiliary spool pin, and a piece of felt for the spool pin eliminate the concern when trying to determine if the sewing equipment is ready to begin the next creative project. The foot accessories snap on and off with ease for zippers, buttonholes, buttons, and all-purpose needs. The accessories also include the quilting guide to ensure straight lines when converting a baby blanket with the Singer heavy-duty sewing machine to add extra warmth and comfort during cold weather seasons. Weighing only 17.8 pounds, the Singer 4423 sewing machine can be transported conveniently in a small car. Store and protect the Singer sewing machine with the soft cover between sewing sessions for years of enjoyment.

Seller listed item as “new open box” lost parts, item used, seller arrogant and disrespecfull. If you want a mediocre and bad experience, i recomend him! I opened a case on EBay and they agreed with me.

      Strong machine for its size

Easy to use once you get to see what this machine can do. However, the manual which comes with the machine, does not really answer any general questions. For instance, when I was ready to sew a sample fabric, I noticed that the needle was positioned to my left instead of in the middle. (The machine has a dial to set the needle position at either left, middle or right) Referring to the manual did not help me with how to return the needle position to middle. I had the stitch dialed in for "normal" stitch thinking that the position would move, but it did not. However, when I changed the dial to make another stitch, the needle position finally moved for that specific stitch. Another concern I have is what stitch I'm to use for overlocking and the manual does not answer that question ...

      Singer Sadness

I truly hesitate to write reviews at all, especially negative, but.... this machine (4411,4423, etc.) all seem to have the same problem, the plastic parts in the bobbin case will not hold up to the speed and power of this machine... it's quite sad as the speed and power are wonderful... it will go through anything... even heavy leather, but what good is it if I have to dissect the bobbin case every hour to nurse the machine into working again??? very sad ... I have been on the phone to Singer....to no avail... I switched to Janome.

    • Forget the Electronics , This Machine Sews Like a Dream

I had purchased a Singer Curvy back in March and had nthing but trouble with it. The upper tension was verey, very difficult to adjust. It had to be adjusted every time I sat down to sew, even on the same project. Singer company thought the timing might have been off as well...on a brand new machine? So I sent it back and started searching for another "simpler" machine. I have found it in the Singer 4423. It sewed beautifully the very first time. It is a fairly heavy machine and sems pretty durable. The threading of the upper thread makes it pretty obvious that the thread is in correctly...no sawing the thread through the tension discs here. I love that I can drop the feed dogs on this machine. I am not an industrial sewer but I am looking forward to having many hassle free projects ...

    • Good Days and Bad Days

Overall, I am happy with this machine. Some days I seem to be plagued with problems, others not so much. The needle threader seems to have gotten out of whack, and only works some times. I have had several bobbin jams for some reason, that I do not understand. It definitely seems like it is built ruggedly, and has many nice features.

    • Love my Singer!!!

I'm not much of a sewer but at times need to make or fix something - if you can do it in a straight line I'm your girl! My mother was a beautiful seamstress (although I wish now I would have let her teach me something) and she bought me a Singer Sewing Machine for my birthday. I thought it was a really stupid gift for me but over the years I've grown to love it. We have a condo in SC and spend about half the year there and for some reason I always need a sewing machine there to fix or make something. I tried to get the same model as my old one, it's about 25 years old, but I think anyone who has one knows they never wearout. Anyway, this site showed different Singer models and all that they could do. I had purchased a couple of Brother Sewing Machines but they were all ...
