This printer is amazing
Has severals advantages, good kind of print, the menu is bast, different quality papers, also you can select different resolution to print, is very good, has a lot inyector the one help a lot to get good, very good prints. but i wonder myself could be work with the same quality if instead use epson ink we use another brands, i really like to get a review from any photographer or design the one use this printer in this way. Thanks epson. Great machine... I got it to print at least 100 prints after months of cleaning the print head. It was a dream, and then it decided to not print any more of the color channels, then finally error messages. I replaced the print head, cap stand assy., but have up on it since I purchased the Pro 3880 which I love.

I am using 4 Epson printers in my business and the last addition was the 3800. There is really no difference between the 3800 and the 3880 other than the new vivid magenta ink on the 3880 which cannot be used on the 3800. The printer is well build and sturdy for professional use with the exception the mickey mouse latch on the front tray. I replace mine with magnet and some super glue. The printer is made for border less printing on only the standard size papers. Try to avoid borderless printing as it dumps ink in the foam pad below and when it become saturate will need replacing by a Epson repair service=$$$ Good value at$ 500-550 used with some ink. Total cost for all the inks is around $450.00 New printer comes with full ink catridges for $1300 to 1500.I am using 4 Epson printers in my business and the last addition was the 3800. I'm very happy with the results of this printer, amazing ink capacity.
I bought mine on Ebay used, it works amazingly well. I had a Canon 9000 Pro MarkII (well I still have it) and the speed of the Epson (especially in Black and White-Grayscale) is much faster. With the Epson 3800 my black and white photos look amazing and are produced in 1/10 the time of the Canon Pro9000. Awesome printer. I have the ink refill system as well from inkrepublic, that works great. The general price range on a used one of these as of April 2013 is about 400-600. be careful when you have to ship this printer
I wanted a printer that would give me professional quality photo prints. Don't ship this printer. I had over $300.00 in damage. If you ship it double up the box, really pack and secure it first then use a second box with peanuts in it or ship it on a light weight pallet. I bought this printer used on "ebay" if you buy one used take my advice on the shipping. the stand up couple that sold me the printer paid for all the damage.I wanted a printer that would give me professional quality photo prints.
