Leap of Faith Pays Off...Get This Album!
While I'm definitely a fan of the Philly Girl, I felt like her first two albums had a couple of absolutely great songs with one-of-a-kind killer beats, mixed with a few too many filler songs (easily forgetable). Buying this album, I was a little worried that it would be a remix/retread album, but I couldn't pass up a new release from her. So, I was surprised that this is a really great album; reflecting her musical range based upon the people she chose to collaborate with. In some songs, she almost becomes a background singer, yet she still shows that she can hang with anyone. Common, The Isley Brothers, Lupe Fiasco, Sergio Mendes, Mos Def; it's all here. This CD is awesome!! I knew to expect an excellent CD since I am Jill Scott fan however she has outdone herself with this CD. The artists she collaborates with range from Al Greene, Common, Will Smith, Will.i.am,Mos Def to name a few. Each song perfectly flows to the next telling a smooth story about Jill and her man. The chemistry is on point! If you are a Jill Scott fan you will love this CD.

I LOVE Jill Scott. She is known songwriter, ever since the Roots had their heyday back in the mid ninties. She's only had more chances to be in the spotlight, herself, more recently because people have realized she is an amazing songwriter and singer, even though she is a large, curvy woman. Im glad people are NOT judging her for her image and are finally seeing RAW TALENT. This is her best cd of them ALL!I LOVE Jill Scott. The idea of Jill Scott collaborating with individuals is great but these collaborations have been set up for new artist. If you are into spending money for various artist and trying something new, great. Jill sings 10% on some songs.
