Great price and really fast shipping however, I thought the movie itself would have had more action.? No reflection on the seller.

I wish even more performances had been preserved

As a documentary, the feature movie is rather bare. However, as a collection of performances, it is a wonderful time-tunnel trip with miraculously re-engineered sound that can be cranked up without fear. I hope you have a subwoofer to give it that live-concert feel :) In addition, the "outtakes" practically double the size of the collection; clicking "play all" is like running a second movie. And the other special features (video, stills and text) provide the history not narrated into the feature documentary. Taken all together, this is the next best thing to buying a time machine. Now if we could just get some "outtakes" of the acts that are still missing...

  • Top critical review

Nice film footage, but certainly not enough of a three day festival.

I would like to think that the entire three day festival was filmed. The film footage shown of each performer was good, but certainly not enough. I wish that a series of videos had been released showing almost the entire show given by each performer.

  • Monterey Pop --- Jimi Hendrix, Otis Redding & The Who at the same show!!

Jimi Hendrix burning his guitar, Pete Townsend of THE WHO smashing his, Otis Redding in one of his last live performances before he was so tragically taken away in a plane crash at the age of 26 in 1968. Big Brother and the Holding Company, Mamas & the Papas --- directed by D.A. Pennebaker --- Monterey Pop is a fantastic capsule in time back to the summer of love in 1967, it was only held once but what a festival, what a movie & at the height of their powers the bands that were captured on film are a testament to what is indeed missing in the music of today.

  • Pop goes the pop.

Quality updated performances from a first if it's kind venue. Major format problem regarding access to the outtake performances. There is no tab for the outtakes. You have to go to a 2nd screen, pick fifth from a list of six, titled supplements. Huh? This is the single biggest portion of Monterey Pops and it's buried without a written tab on another page under Supplements? Shame on the formaters.
