It actually does post but it freezes when it tries to display the Windows splash screen and has artifacts, which is a very different problem. Not a bad choice.
I wanted to get some life out of some of my older hardware considering how expensive some of it was when I bought it. Now bear in mind this is an LGA 775 DDR 1 PC 3200 Mobo. I have a P4 3.4 GHz CPU and 4GB of RAM mounted to this. With a more modern video card installed (Radeon R7 PCI3 16X 1GB) it actually gives me decent performance in HD with a big screen TV (50"). Now keep this in mind with refurbish... sometimes you will purchase something like this and may experience problems. I had an issue that when I tried to start this computer build the first time the BIOS was giving me a lot of heck. It may seem like a hardware conflict but if you enter the BIOS menu and you experience odd behavior in BIOS, in my case I could make changes but when I tried to save and quit BIOS to continue to ... It may seem like a hardware conflict but if you enter the BIOS menu and you experience odd behavior in BIOS, in my case I could make changes but when I tried to save and quit BIOS to continue to boot the computer would hang on the "Save and Quit Y/N?" and not continue with boot up. It turned out to be the batter in the BIOS chip was dead (yes some BIOS chips have a battery in them, when it dies the chip goes bad.) and in this case was easy to remove and easy to replace. I bought a new BIOS chip from BIOSMAN on eBay and suddenly it was like a whole new computer. While Hardware can cause issues you can easily tell if it is a BIOS issue vs, Hardware by the BIOS menu and the behavior of the BIOS menu. If you cannot save and continue boot up chances are it is a BIOS issue and if you cannot even get your computer to boot to the point where you get an error message such as "Netleader Missing," or "NO OS present," or "Boot Disk Failure," then there is a hardware issue such as a bad hard drive and especially DVD drives gone bad. Another sign it is a BIOS failure is if you get the message "Updating ESCD" that goes on forever (hung up). Honestly I am glad I don't have to scrap out hundreds of dollars in useful hardware. I am running Ubunt 15.04 on the machine this board is used in and so far I have no issues other then Ubuntu will for some ungodly reason not install the drivers for the onboard sound drivers but that is an OS limitation I solved by adding an old Soundblaster card and problem solved. I have not tried this with Windows 10 but I have to imagine it will work fine. By the way, Foxconn is the company that makes all the hardware for Apple. Nuff said. While this board is not what I would call "premium" it works, is not horrendously expensive, and after changing the BIOS chip chugs happily away at streaming video for sure.
