About this product

Product Information

Sno-Cross Championship Racing is an around-the-world snowmobile racing game, the first on the Dreamcast, that attempts to emulate the speed, noise and chaos of the real thing. Actual Yamaha snowmobiles are available to race with, and as expected, each possesses different attributes and skills, such as engine performance, treads, and the like. Depending on the class of racing you pick (500cc is the easiest, 700cc the hardest), you'll have the option to choose from an assortment of snowmobiles for the task.

Different classes also boast different tracks, and the variety of locales turns this game into a globe-hopping affair; players attempt to advance through the ranks of sled racers worldwide, racing such tracks as Nagano, Japan and Munich, Germany. In the Championship mode, beating these tracks, as well as performing a limited number of tricks, will get you cash, which in turn gives you the ability to upgrade your sled.

Advancing through the Championship mode will also unlock the more difficult 700cc tracks. Alternatively, if you're looking for a quick fix, there is a single race option available, as well as a two-player race mode, and a bonus mode that pits the racer against an extremely steep uphill climb.

Within the game are various surfaces to traverse, including powder and packed snow, ice, and gravel, as well as a variety of weather effects from snow to rain. Races can take place either night or day. One mode even gives players the ability to create new tracks, fully customizing their shape and the obstacles that are to be put in the path of would-be racers, as well as the time of day and weather. Multiple tracks can be saved to VMU.
