A solid and faithful rendering of the Star Trek hand held phaser...
I've been a Star Trek fan since the original show debuted in 1966. I was a college freshman and remember everyone on my dorm floor gathering around the TV to watch the show. I've seen many of the toy versions of the iconic Star Trek hand held phaser. This is not a toy but rather a solid (and heavy) homage created by the Wand Co. with highly detailed metal and plastic components. I'll admit that I don't use it as a remote for TV control. Instead, I have it in a glass fronted display case along with the iconic hand held communicator (also by the Wand Co,). It's a great display item and I also utilize its storage case as a base for displaying it. Better then the original on the Tv series.
This communicator is an outstanding replica of the original, with the advantage that it actually works. The one from the show did not really work, this connects to your cell phone over Bluetooth, and between the sounds effects and the actual connection using the voice prom from Google or Siri, it complies with just about every command, I have send texts, and make phone calls from this unit, also it is a wonderful piece for conversation and the quality is outstanding.This communicator is an outstanding replica of the original, with the advantage that it actually works. This Star Trek Tos Bluetooth Communicator is what, I aways wanted to have in the pass. I got a toy star trek communicator with clock not working anymore and calculator and still working. The star trek toy still makes the sounds. I love the Star Trek Tos Bluetooth Communicator and it is smaller than the toy one. Works for me at a five stars here. The Quality and value the best!!!

Almost as good as the real thing!
If only I had one of these when I was a kid. But back then the tech didn't exist. I love it! Only down side is no caller ID unless you look at your phone and you can't dial from it unless you have voice dial. But you can dial your phone with the communicator open and make a call that way. All in all way too cool and too much fun seeing the look on peoples faces!
