About this product

Product Information

An adventure game patterned after the film of the same name, Who Framed Roger Rabbit sees the luckless hare embark on a quest to clear his name and rescue his beloved Jessica from the villainous Judge Doom. To do so, players will need to explore familiar locales from the movie such as the Ink & Paint Club, Eddie Valiant's office, and the Warehouse. Viewing from a top-down perspective, players make their way between each area, talking to the locals or searching for clues and items that may prove useful. Important items are stored in Roger's inventory and each must be used in a particular area in order to surmount the obstacles and puzzles that impede his progress.

Along the way, Roger will enlist the aid of Baby Herman, Dolores, and Benny the Cab. As in the movie, the Weasels -- Greasy, Psycho, Stupid, and Wheezy -- will attempt to foil Roger's progress at every turn and he will need to fight them off using a variety of cartoon-inspired implements, including a mallet and the Toon Gun. Though he possesses only meager health reserves, Roger can eat carrots strewn about the environments in order to replenish health lost during confrontations with the Weasels. Who Framed Roger Rabbit utilizes a password system in order to record progress.

  • Not the Best of the Best, but Enjoyable Nonetheless!

The Plot: In this game (loosely based on the movie) you play as goofy 'toon Roger Rabbit on a quest to save Toontown, and your lovely wife Jessica, from the clutches of Judge Doom. Along the way you'll get help from detective Eddie Valiant, Baby Herman, Bennie the Cab and even complete strangers. The Graphics: Quite good for an original Game Boy title, they incorporate nice shading, detail and good sized sprites. The game uses a top-down perspective like most of the 2D Zelda series giving you a good overview of your surroundings. The Sound: About average, or a bit above, you'll hear several different tunes during the game, but nothing too catchy or moving. Sound effects work well (I like the "clanking" sound as the trolley starts up). The Game-Play: Though rather short, it was a ...
