    It takes a number of batteries, which add to the weight. I bought it to be part of my hurricane supplies, and hope the batteries last! Otherwise it's fine.

    used for other than intended...

    great unit when external power supply is used. can be heavy with 9 D size batteries and expensive to operate only on them. must go with rechargeable batteries. .i use mine rigged up to one of those standing finned electric heaters for warmth and in that respect it works great!! i have additional back up o2cool fans so when motor quits, after 2 yrs of "continuous" run time. im prepared...

    Read the fine print. Yeah... It's "lightweight", until you stick 6 D batteries in it. Then it's a boat anchor
