Good Filter
Have only been using the filter for 2 to 3 weeks. It is quiet, much better than Tetra above water model. I only have a 10gal. tank. Not as yet sure how well the filter works comparably. Need to give it more time. One thing noticed is when feeding, the flakes don't quickly sink into the water and immediately sink to the bottom of the tank or get sucked up like the above-water filter. The flakes will hang around on top of the water for several minutes and thus allowing them greater time to eat. I believe that's due to less to no surface agitation of the water when using the below-water filter. With that all said, there is one con I experienced. The impeller was stuck so no water was passing through the filter. I had to remove the bottom of the filter (it's a snap fit - not screws. Larger ... Have only been using the filter for 2 to 3 weeks. I bought 4. One lasted 5 days, the 2nd one 2 weeks. The last 2 are still working, so far. This is a good brand that I have many of, but in the 20 to 40 gal. size.

I have been using this filter for 3 years now. It lasts for at least a year-------sometimes longer and it does the job of keeping the tank clean. I buy a new one every year just because I like to but there is no point spending a ton of money on a filter when you can pick this one up cheap -----but the filter itself is not cheap at all---most important-------it does the job! The replacement filters that you change every month are also very inexpensive. Overall great purchase!I have been using this filter for 3 years now.
