Like on the cover this game is HIGHLY Addictive!
Fire and Ice is one of the BEST NES games ever to be made, aka Soloman's Key 2 on Famicom. This is part 2 to Soloman's Key but it's different on how it's played, kinda took the Mario Bros. 3 map and made there own world and the game play is a puzzle brain power type. There's flames u put out with ice but got to overcome paths that hinder or block u, how will u get over there to put out the fire? U must figure it out. Fun as ever and worth the big bucks it'll take to buy it as it's not cheap because it's kinda rare, by far NOT the rarest for NES but scarce. The game reminds me of Bubble Bobble not sure why, and uses the same character as the first game I believe. I think of this game whenever I hear Starship's "Sara" song. Fire 'N Ice was a late release for the NES in 1992 (1 year after the SNES launched) but I argue it is one of the better puzzle games on the platform, rivalling Kickle Cubicle and of course, the mighty Tetris. The object of the game is to use ice blocks to extinguish all the fire from the stage, however it starts simple and begins to test your mind very quickly with the ability to create your own ice blocks as well. This isnt just a game, its an adventure. Cool action/puzzle game. You make ice blocks or remove them with your wizard. you can climb, push etc. you have to put out the fire bad guys on each level and it gets harder. the bosses you fight make fire slowly come up from the bottom so you have to be good. if you mess up its fast and simple to reset stages. It also has continue and edit mode, so you can make your own levels to challenge friends. It came out in 1993 so its hard to find and expensive. Comparable to solomons key and Lolo. Talk about addicting, and challenging! Some very good thinkers in this game! This is just as good if not better then the first game in the series, solomons key! I finally got a good deal on fire and ice and got back to my roots! Lol Nintendo fan for life!
