Shot through the heart
I saw this movie years ago and couldn't forget about it. Something about it stuck with me. I think it is the near past genocide that had my attention. Soo many people ref the NAZI- jewish, communist, socalist, political opposition, mentally retarded, Jehovah's witnesses, homosexual's, people that they owed money to or didn't like...the list is far to long and the rules changed by case! This movie dealt with a crime against the world, yes the world. The world lost all those lives. It might sound selfish but this is how I deal with the loss. I have to remove my heart from the topic at times. I do feel a sad emotion even though I am not from the region and sorrow/anger for the stupid waste of life. This movie brings to light some humanity that should be viewed by all, not just 44 yr old guys ... I saw this movie years ago and couldn't forget about it. Something about it stuck with me. Genocide was live and well in Armenia/Turkey in 1915 The Germans involved took things to a worse degree later on running the Auschwitz concentration camps. Hitler himself stated in a speach "Who will remember the Armenians"? Genocide stops with direct action, not sorrow! We all can do our part to stop these events from happening over and over again. Ref Darfur today! Please view this movie and take a look at your own view's. Would you kill your friend/neighbor because the Gov. or some propaganda told you to? Would you? Could you? Could you think for yourself or would you fall in line with all the other sheep? Please think about it! Mankind has such a bad history of repeating the same bad choices! The WAR CRIMES TRIALS for these events are proceding as of Oct 2009 in Holland at the International Criminal Tribunal. Do some research on your own...I don't want to violate anyone's rights. Check out the trials! They are in progress now! See IF YOU AGREE WITH BIlJANA PLAVSIC'S release! I guess the "Iron Lady" is now free and back home. I wish her victims had the same chance- oh that's right their displaced or not alive anymore!!! Shot Through the Heart DVD
I originally saw this film in 1998 on HBO. I LOVE IT. I am a marksman myself and I can appreciate their passion for placing the perfect shot. I love the feel of touching off a shot and KNOWING it was a good one. These guys are best friends. Unfortunately, POLITICS gets in the way and while they are best of friends, their views are TOTALLY different. One decides to join the fighting and train snipers to take down his own people and the other guy decides to stop his friend. It's amazing how political and religious views can change who we are. Great film shot on location! Watch it & learn something
After spending a year in Bosnia during the end of the war and into the new peace accord, this film brings back alot of memories, good and bad. Nothing fake or "Hollywood" about this film. While not based on one specific true story, it is based on many events, many still untold, about the horrible events that occured just a few years ago in a modern European country. If you dont watch it for the entertainment, watch it for a modern history lesson.After spending a year in Bosnia during the end of the war and into the new peace accord, this film brings back alot of memories, good and bad. Very good movie about the war in Bosnia. I saw the move first back in the late 90's and had been unable to find the movie since. I was very happy to find it on Ebay for a great price.
