    Groovie Goolies-The Saturday "Mourning" |Collection

    I bought this collection through the eyes of my childhood. I remembered watching the Groovie Goolies cartoon show but couldn't remember the show itself. When it came I hurried to the DVD player and put it in. Boy was I disappointed. The opening song seemed to be sung by an Archies spin off band. The cartoon itself was like watching Rowan & Martin's Laugh In for kids. Bad Boris Karloff imitations, silly and stupid jokes even kids wouldn't laugh at, and not much else. I watched about 4 of the shows and put it on the shelf. If you've seen one episode of Groovie Goolies, you've seen them all. The only 2 cartoon series from the Saturday Morning lineup from my childhood that I truly enjoyed on DVD so far are Here Comes the Grump and Milton the Monster. That doesn't include Mighty Mouse, ...

    DVD, Groovie Goolies

    I love this DVD collection. It was one of my favorites as a child and now my 5-year-old can enjoy it too! It was in excellent condition with information about the show. I feel it was a very wise purchase. It is a good cartoon for kids to watch unlike some of the ones they have out these days. I think it also gives my child a different view of "monsters" and does not get scared by them. She loves to sing along and laughs through the whole set! Fun entertainment, the whole family would enjoy this DVD collection.

    Brings back memories!

    I bought this as a birthday gift for my granddaughter. She loves Halloween, and I think she is going to enjoy the characters all year long. I know I did, some 47 years ago!

    C'mon everybody join the Goolies...

    I adore the Groovie Goolies. They've kind of "haunted" me since my childhood. I remembered watching them when I was very little, and then they went away and with the exception of two really bad quality videos I found in the late 80's (with only two episodes each), they've never been available. Now don't get me wrong, I love them, but they are not funny. I don't remember thinking they were funny back when I was small, but they were the perfect introduction into classic movie monsters for me which is a love that has carried on with me until this day. I love the art, the animation and most of all, the character designs. Best part is my 3 1/2 year old LOVES THEM! I bought them to show him cartoons I watched when I was little and he adores them. Thumbs way up for the Goolies!

    Groovie Goolies Collection{2006,DVD}

    I recomened anybody who grew up on Saturday Morning cartoons back in the 70's,buy this dvd set.THis company Entertainment Rights has done a exclent job on restoring the filmation titles in bright color condition.All 16 episodes are on here,plus lots of great extra's,The 45 minute goolian documentary was well done,very entertaining,funny.Never has the Goolies looked any better.I beleive kids of today would enjoy:Drac,Frankie,Wolfie&Sabrina,just as much as we did back then.So come on and join the goolies get together!Buy It Today.
