    WS-C3850-48P-L is a bargain you can hardly pass up!

    For the current bang/buck ratio, this is a killer deal. On average, you will find what was once a $5,000 to $7,000 switch for around $150. The WS-C3850-48P-L is a high-speed Gigabit switch with PoE+ meaning that you can provision up to 30W output for each port. With dual power supplies, you can use them as redundant or for maximum capacity of 1440W across all 48 ports. It is completely managed and you can use either command line or web interface. It is L3 switching so that you can handle several VLAN's on separate IP network segments. At the current eBay price, you cannot go wrong. Sure, the model line is almost 10 years old, but who cares when you get this level of performance for such a great price! My attitude is, even with some cosmetic issues, if it dies, just buy another. ...

    Great Reputation, Great Product

    This particular vintage switch, although 8 years old, still has the ability to update the IOS to the newest version, has the same capability of newer switches, and has a multitude of both PSU / Network module options that can be purchased separately. All and all, for the money, it is a good value. Relatively speaking, Cisco's support for this switch is superb.

    Excellent switch for todays prices.

    These switches originally sold for Thousands of dollars. The bargain is great! Make sure you get a power supply that is at least 700W to support more than a few PoE devices.
