    Not as quiet as we thought.

    While it's advertised as being quiet, there is a rattle in the newly designed damper that we cannot mitigate. The older dampers may have not been as air tight, but they did not vibrate or resonate. It also appears that the fan cage itself is not well balanced (or not balanced at all), but this does not seem to the be the source of the rattle. The rattling only occurs when the fan is in the housing. Installation is easy in a new install, but a bit challenging on a retrofit. Among other issues, be sure you are aware of where your exhaust pipe connects to the fan. In our case, the old fan exhausted on the right and the new on the left, so that meant more unexpected duct work.
