      What you need to meet code, prevent fires - same as big box for lower cost

      Pretty much all circuit breakers in homes need to be arc fault. The circuitry inside makes them a lot more expensive than normal breakers. This source was about half the price found in our local big box stores for what appears to be the very same breaker in the same packaging. The point of arc fault is to protect circuits where a connected appliance has a small break in the cord that is causing arcs that can lead to home fires. From that perspective, the cost is reasonable. If you have a GE breaker panel that currently uses THQL breakers, this will fit. It will NOT be a direct substitute for a non-arc fault breaker, since both the black and white wires connect to the breaker. The included instructions are reasonably complete and cover a typical new installation with 12/2 wire, but I ...
