Decent press for small hat designs
I bought this machine to do my first heat press transfer hat order of 40 hats. For starters, my design was a bit too much in height for full heat coverage by the machine, so I had to trim the design down and alter placement (originally full front). With that said, I recommend no more than a 3 inch in height and 3.5 inch in width design. Now to the machine: It warms up fast. I have a separate press for shirts and it takes 15 minutes. This press warmed up in less than 4. Getting the right pressure setting will take a little time to adjust (get several test hats). I messed up at least 5 hats before I got the swing of it (again, first time user). The heat seams pretty consistent all over. the top element will not close flus on the bottom pad. There is about a half-inch of bottom pad ... I bought this machine to do my first heat press transfer hat order of 40 hats. There isn't a smart lift mechanism. The hat stretcher worked fine. Depending on the kind of hat you use, you will have to play around with placement. I used a 6 panel 100% acrylic ball cap for my first order. Beware of the heat element bracket when you are getting ready to use it for the first time. Mine came without it being tightened. I didn't realize it until about 8 hats in. Easy to tighten and set with the wing-nuts that are attached. Digital controls are simple to set. Overall, it is a good press. I'm going to look into custom iron-on patches to be the main use for it.

This is a great little machine. It made its money worth in under a month. I am sure there are better products out there, but this one will do what you need it too. You may mess up a few hats in the learning process, but that's the learning curve. Just keep at it and you will be selling hats in no time... love this machine and will buy again if this one breaks down.... for the price I don't expect it to last long but I've been profiting off it since I bought it.
