To open the soup can, I need to lift the ring pull. There is no opportunity to use a manual can opener as the lids are too recessed. So very many times, those rings would just break off when lifted. A major soup company advised me to purchase a tool like this. I followed the product instructions & I could not believe how EFFORTLESS(!) it was to open the soup can. I wish I had access to this tool decades ago! A+++
