okay...i should have known by the cheap price...let the buyer beware...these are the crummiest new tuners i ever put on a banjo...1 of them would not even tune up the string in question...it kept stripping off the gear...feels like little chunks of metal grinding in there...they look okay...they work horribly...anyway, i took them off and tossed them in the trash can...my warning to you?...don't waste your time on these...spend more money and buy a set of tuners that work.

    Do what they are supposed to do.

    This is second set and I haven't had a problem other than a rough spot in one tuner. They look good and do what they are supposed to do. I will most likely buy them for my next build or repair just like anything else I like to use.

    Head Turner Machine Tuners

    Look almost identical to high quality tuners from my expensive banjo though looks can be deceiving. One of four planetary tuners was smooth, one was very gritty, the other two so so. All in all, better precision then old timey friction tuners and keeps a tune so can't complain to much.

    Banjo tuners work well on old banjo.

    You could get better tuners but the cost will be significantly higher. If I had a top end banjo, I would have bought more expensive top end tuners. However, these tuners work well on my inexpensive old 1940's banjo. Great for lower value banjos.
