    The spot for the battery in this fob was a couple mm off compared to the original fob, which would have made it impossible to use the old electronics in this new fob w/o some modifications! However, all I really needed was a new rubber piece to go over the buttons, which I transferred over to the old fob, and now I have remote start again and thats all I wanted! PS used on 17 ram! Theres metal pieces under the rubber, which comesoff making the button useless.The new ruber has the metal in place!

    12 years of misery over

    I shave fought with the keyless entry since my 2009 truck was new. I had to push the button numerous times to get the doors to finally unlock. Sometimes I had to use the key. I always blamed the lock module in the truck. Two dealers couldn’t find the problem. I bought these shells to see if the problem was in the pads. I took the new pads and installed them into my existing fobs. I now have two perfectly functional keyless entry buttons. Someone should sell just the pads. Oh, well, I have two new fob shells in case the old ones break. This was still a very inexpensive repair for a long-term frustrating problem. I hope this information solves similar problems for others in a shorter timeframe. The contacts on these new pads appear to be better than the original.
