I’m blown away by the tone in little beast! Great crunchy gain only amp, takes pedals well. EQ drives the amp in various stages but does not clean up. Even with gain off there is still quite a bit of overdrive. Really really like it though, lots o fun!

Great deal & free shipping on a solid state mini-amp. It somewhat sounds like a Soldano SLO 100. Very percussive with lots of gain, sustain, & more low end & mid voicing. One of those amps that doesn t take alot of reverb well. (Too sensitive.) A little noisey when not playing. You can also get this amp to feedback with the gain & mids up high. Something esle to experiment with. I would buy this item, again. Can t wait to mic it & record with it. Thanks!

    Small, simple, loud

    For practice and gigs very compact and loud enough, many headroom. Simple in use plug-n-play, only one channel, but with wide range of sound. Serial fx loop, could be used as amp, or preamp in tube amp. I like to use it when practice at home.

    High Gain,Low Price

    I own this model and the Purple Wind and love them both. I mostly use them to run my BOSS GT-1 into any 8-16 ohm cabinet,via the effects loop insert,allowing me to use just the power amp with no preamp "color". Compared to the most awesome Purple Wind,the Captain Sunset is totally different with a more high gain tone. A great small wattage amp,I use with low watt 10" Celestion speakers and it get's plenty loud for a practice amp. I originally thought this series would be generic sounding toys but wow was I glad to be wrong. Excellent option for little money plus can be used with different ohm cab ratings. Good with pedals before the amp or the fx loop,or both.

    Awesome little amplifier with great tone.

    I got this as a cheap way to power my guitar speakers without having to hookup my entire rig. I use the them as power amps versus an actual amp. Using my Mooer GE200 with my clean and dirty Mesa Boogie Patches with --stereo-- effects as the preamp, BBE Sonic Stomp Sonic Maximizer, and my EV and Celestion Black Widow KKaudio guitar speaker cabinets. I plug in directly to the effects return and it works splendidly. I play in stereo and if you're looking for a cost effective way to play in stereo, this is it. But be warned, once you go stereo you can never go back. The tone really comes across nicely and is more than loud enough for a bedroom (or a gig with friends). The nano amps are only 5 watts but they crank in a bedroom! And with two of them that's 10 watts.

    Great little power house

    This little amp will surprise you. It is more then loud enough for home use and possible small band practice. It has great sustain, I use it with a small one 10" cabinet and it sounds great.
