However, by default, the image format from the DVD is small so you have to configure your TV to zoom out the image to fit with the size of your screen.     Fantastic! Acting, visuals and story. Yes subtitles-totally worth it, You will want to own this.

    READ a movie! This is the ONE! The story is fresh and original. The characters are perfect and the only time I stopped watching was to change discs. I have TWO copies now, because I will surely wear out the first. Lee Min-ho being the lead was def a reason I wanted to see this and I was NOT disappointed. All the characters were perfectly cast espec 'Mermaid' (no spoiler) Jun Ji-hyun. The visuals were captivating, the action was great and having watched this over 9 times (because I needed subtitles and it took a couple watchings to catch what I missed, but I didn't mind AT ALL). You will watch this over and over. This will be a favorite for everyone. There's no significant swear words, not ENOUGH romantic interaction-but that only added to the story-line. I laughed and cried and cared ...

    A great romantic ocean fantasy

    I loved this drama. The actors were excellent, especially in the funny scenes between the mermaid and land humans. The underwater swimming effects were amazingly believable. Besides all that, I enjoyed the story-a good mixture of comedy, romance and melodrama. A good candidate for watching again and again.
