  • # Silly Shows

These three shows from the BBC show Fawlty Towers are so silly. John Cleese plays Basil Fawlty who runs an inn in Europe. He has big ambitions but trouble pulling them off. These three shows exemplify his need for authority and affirmation--which he never quite gets. In the Hotel Inspector especially his comedic timing is impeccable and his silliness extreme while he tries so hard to be taken seriously. He is a laugh riot. The other characters work well with him but Basil steals the shows.
