Built around a 26-130 millimeter equivalent F1.8-2.7 lens, the XZ-10 features a 12 megapixel 1/2.3-inch type backlit CMOS sensor that offers ISO sensitivity up to 6400 and sensor-shift image stabilization. The small thumb rest on the rear panel is a touch of class that makes holding the Olympus XZ-10 comfortable during lengthy shoots, and the sturdy click-stop dial around the lens housing gives the whole camera a very rugged and reliable feel. A high-resolution touchscreen LCD display on the rear of the camera is the star of the show, offering clear and bright visuals and allowing the user to check out the detail on their snaps before deciding whether to keep them. The 26-130 millimeter lens is amazingly sharp, and the camera uses image stabilization technology, resulting in steady and beautiful handheld shots in any conditions or lighting environments. The Olympus Stylus XZ-10 compact camera offers excellent image quality thanks to this state-of-the-art optical equipment. The CMOS 12 megapixel sensor with ISO sensitivity, 26 millimeter focal length (35 millimeter equivalent) and 5x optical zoom all work together to ensure magnification without pixilation. This camera has a very bright lens with a wide aperture (1:1.8-2.7) for crystal-clear photos, even in poorly lit environments. The aperture or shutter speed can be adjusted in a snap to create different depth-of-field effects. This camera also has a video shooting mode, and can record 1080p full HD movies with stereo sound, as well as slow-motion capture. Accomplish all of your photography and videography goals with this super convenient and intuitive digital camera. The Olympus Stylus XZ-10 even comes with 11 built-in art filters running the gamut from cross process and diorama to gentle sepia and grainy film. Olympus has fitted the Stylus XZ-10 with a nice and fast 5x zoom f/1.8 lens, which closes down to just f/2.7 at the telephoto end. Like the earlier versions of XZ compact cameras from Olympus (the XZ-1 and XZ-2), the XZ-10 model features a full set of manual controls, as well as a rotating ring around the lens element.     Great Little Camera...

    ... but full retail cost, and the short battery life, are definite negatives that pull my rating down a star. Still, the superb Olympus optics, pluses outstanding build and image quality deserve a full five stars. This could be a person’s only camera for a trip where weight is critical. I use Olympus micro four thirds cameras and lenses almost exclusively (I have one Leica / Panasonic LUMIX m4/3 lens) which are already small and light. Even given that, there are times when I want smaller and lighter yet. The XS-10 gives me (for me) all the megapixels I need with a great fast zoom lens in a pocket sized package. The menus are typical Olympus, and include the filters and setting I want to use too. In fact, this camera provides an important vehicle for my personal project where I shoot ...

    Good value for money if you're looking for a quick f1.8 pocket camera

    Excellent features for advanced users who want a decent travel camera or a backup camera. The front control ring offers a quick way to control apertures, shutter speeds, etc. The back control rings controls exposure level and other functions that you customize. Picture quality is pretty good, can't be compared with the OMD series. But it can handle low light situations with ease, quick focusing as well. I have never used flash at all with this camera, there's no need to.

    A good reliable quality Olympus camera which is easy to understand and operate

    I purchased one of these cameras brand new several years ago and it has been an amazing and reliable unit.It currently has a cracked screen so getting an identical replacement at a reasonable and fair market value means that I can keep using a camera that I am familiar with from the actual taking pictures to the process of downloading them.
