Note: This gasket seals the air passage way for the primer ball's puff of air to momentarily increase the pressure on the fuel [in the float bowl] and force a small amount fuel up the emulsion tube into the venturi which primes the engine. A poor seal will allow that airflow to escape [prior to entering the float bowl} reducing or eliminating your prime.
