AcuRite Color Weatherstation
The AcuRite indoor/outdoor color weather station, in my opinion, is one of the best units out there. It was easy to understand right out of the box. You add batteries to the outdor sensor and place it in a safe and secure place, out of direct sunlight and you are done outside. You then go inside your house and position the color weather station, connect the power cord and it automatically finds the sensor and in no time you have a color monitor displaying your inside and outside temperatures along with the monitor showing what type of weather to expect. I have had other monitors, but this is the best I've had in terms simplicity and weather watching. I expected that this unit would be of comparable quality to my regular black and white Accurite weather stations. Not so. First:This unit is tethered to a wall electric outlet. The screen is quite dark and quite small. It is very difficult to see at more than four feet away and also so dark a display that makes it very difficult to see also. I gave this to my son and he keeps it by his bed where he is able to actually see it. No where in the ad did I read that an AC supply was required. This severely limited the locations where I could place the unit. AND due to the limited viewing angle of the display I was truly limited in placement options. I have had to accept a less than advantage spot for the display. Product doesn't function 100%. Has battery and power option, but battery option does not work. The display is horrible and you can only see it at certain angles. Disappointed but not worth the trouble to dispute or return. Definitely does not resemble the advertised picture!
